Healthcare reform

During the past year, there has been debate over the issue of healthcare reform. One of the items in the bill that has been being argued in both chambers of congress is the "public option" that is supposed to similar to medicare. President Obama seems to think that the healthcare industry is a stumbling block to economic recovery. He says “Health care reform is no longer just a moral imperative, it is a fiscal imperative...If we want to create jobs and rebuild our economy, then we must address the crushing cost of healthcare this year, in this administration.”
On the other hand, you got conservatives who are saying this will make the economic crisis wrost. According to a conservative website, they believe that congress is meddling around with something called "universal healthcare" or "single-payer healthcare". The site says that "Liberals generally believe the only way to fix the system is for government to operate it, the way Canada and the United Kingdom run their systems -- via "universal health care."
